Commentator-G and Commentator-R are applications for generating and reading annotated RTF files. Commentator-G allows the user to highlight multiple portions of text. A sound and a text scratch pad can be attached to each highlighted region. The highlighted regions can remain visible or be hidden. Commentator-R is used to read the annotated documents. Clicking on the highlighted (visible or invisible) portions of the text will cause the attached sound to play and the scratch pad to appear. A sample document MalayExercise.agy is included to illustrate how the commentator programs can be used in modern language classes.
Commentator is used in English courses at Allegheny College.
This application was developed under NeXTstep release 2.2.
